Privacy

What is stored, where, and only when you choose a feature that needs it.

Reading itself needs no account. There is no analytics or tracking service on this site, and no advertising. What follows describes what the site actually stores, not a general policy template.

Reading without an account

A reading checklist, your remembered place in a chapter (only if you turn that on), and your text-size, typeface, and appearance preferences are all stored in your browser's local storage. None of it is sent to a server, and clearing your browser's site data removes it. Remembering your reading position is off until you explicitly enable it.

Searching the book fetches a static search index into your browser and searches it there; the site never sees what you searched for.

Signing in for group or coordinator features

Organizing a reading group, tracking group progress, or joining one as a member requires an account, provided by Supabase, our authentication and database provider. Signing in sets a session cookie so the site knows you're signed in; the group memberships, assignments, and reading progress those features need are stored on Supabase's servers, not only in your browser.

Hosting

The site is hosted on Vercel, which handles requests to serve pages and, like most hosting providers, keeps standard server logs (request metadata such as IP address and timing) for operating and securing the service. This site does not add its own request tracking on top of that.

On mobile

The mobile app, where available, stores bookmarks and reading preferences only on your device. It does not currently have accounts or server-synced data.

See Terms for the terms of using the site, and Sources & Copyright for where the text itself comes from.
